12 november t/m 16 december 2017
The work of Yoshiyuki Koinuma is influenced by ancient symbols from Buddhism and Shintoism, strange creatures from stories, exotic animals and computer games. In the term Avatar, these influences come together. During his residence in Leipzig he chose radically for working on paper. This medium gives him freedom in expression. When painting he feels like a fisherman, the paper is a big river or see full of animals.
