In de tentoonstellingsserie WIDER PERSPECTIVES, samengesteld door Leana Boven, presenteren denkers en makers uit verschillende disciplines werk op grote muur van het Gemaal. De wand zal dienen als canvas voor diverse en kritische perspectieven die gebonden zijn aan lokale context, historie, en narratieven.

De Zuidtopia Muziekmatinee is een muziek- en talkshow georganiseerd door Inge Schippers op zondagmiddag. Iedere editie staat er een bekende of onbekende bewoner of ondernemer uit het gebied Feijenoord centraal. Aan de hand van muziek, beeld- en geluidsfragmenten wordt tijdens de middag het verhaal van de hoofdgast verteld. Ze vertellen over de invloeden en tradities die ze vanuit hun jeugd meegekregen hebben en vanuit welke tradities en welke cultuur de muziek afkomstig is. Gast TBA. Zondag 16:00-18:30u 

Het Gemaal op Zuid is een levendige plek waar er allerlei activiteiten naast elkaar kunnen plaatsvinden. Samen met verschillende partners zorgt de Afrikaanderwijk Coöperatie er voor dat dit markante gebouw voor collectief gebruik, programmering, kennisdeling en voor wijkbijeenkomsten behouden blijft. Het is een echt wijk- en werkgemeenschap.

De karakteristieke locatie wordt sinds 2014 beheerd door de Afrikaanderwijk Coöperatie. Een wijkonderneming die de kracht en kwaliteit van lokale productie zichtbaar maakt.

In the exhibition series WIDER PERSPECTIVES, curated by Leana Boven, thinkers and makers from various disciplines will present work on the large wall of the Gemaal. The wall will serve as a canvas for diverse and critical perspectives tied to local context, history, and narratives.


The Zuidtopia Muziekmatinee (Sunday afternoon) is a musical journey through the present and the past based on the stories of people from the neighborhood, where music is the guiding principle of the afternoon. During the afternoon, the story of the main guest is told on the basis of live music, images and sound clips, which influences they received from their youth and from which traditions and culture this music originates.

 

 The Gemaal op Zuid is a lively place where all kinds of activities can take place side by side. Together with various partners, the Afrikaanderwijk Coöperatie ensures that this striking building is retained for collective use, programming, knowledge sharing and for neighborhood gatherings. It is a real neighborhood and work community.

The characteristic location has been managed by the Afrikaanderwijk Coöperatie since 2014. A neighborhood company that makes the strength and quality of local production visible.
